Woodlands Equestrian Centre, Established in 1997 by the Hession family, Tony and Julia developed the Centre, along side their stud 'Beezies Stud' breeding and producing Irish Draughts, Connemara ponies and Irish Sport horses from carefully selected foundation stock. The 'Beezies' prefix can be found in the UK and in Europe competing successfully.
In 2010 Simone took over the ownership of Woodlands Equestrian Centre, with Julia continuing to run Beezies Stud standing her own stallion Beezies Echo.

Woodlands facilities include 40x20 indoor arena, 60x20 outdoor arena, 30x20 outdoor arena and 26 stables. Tea room, toilets and a flood lite car park. As well as off road hacking and cross country.
Simone Hession BHSAI
Resident instructor/trainer at Woodlands.
Simone is a qualified BHSAI, HSI level one coach, BHS Ride Leader, Occupational First Aider, holds a child protection cert and is Garda vetted.
Simone was born in London in 1980. She started riding aged four at a local riding school in London, until her family moved to Sligo in 1991.
She bought her first pony 'Bobby' and joined the Sligo Hunt Pony Club and the SJI. They represented the Pony Club at National level at both showjumping and dressage. In a short time she up graded her 145cm pony to a Grade A. As well as showjumping many other home bred horses/ponies and owners horses/ponies.
Moving to horses was easy with an overgrown Connemara gelding, followed by an Irish Draught mare, Beezies Sue RID (retired in 2014 aged 21).
Since 1999, Simone joined Dressage Ireland together with Beezies Sue. They have been consistent winners up through the grades and have won numerous championships, as well as representing Ireland at Under 21 level and Senior level.
Each year Simone travels to the UK to train and compete on the British Dressage circuit.
Simone is the rider of the 'Beezies' competition horses which are based at Woodlands Equestrian. Also competing horses for owners. She presently competes Beezies Big Brother, Beezies Double Diamond and Beezies Contrast.
She trains regularly to improve her performance, training with such International trainers as, Conrad Schumacher, Fredi Eilberg and Gareth Hughes. Simone and her horses have trained in Germany and the UK as well as part of the National Training Squad.
Currently competing at SJI and DI shows, now besides competing at home and abroad, she teaches dressage, showjumping, eventing and hobby riders at Woodlands Equestrian Centre, also preparing horses for competitions, sales and inspections.
Simone now breeds from her retired competition horse Beezies Rose.
Anne Lawrence BHSPT
Anne's full time occupation is as a national school teacher. Having ridden and trained with Simone since 1995, is now a qualified trainer and she joind the WEC team in 2013, she specialises in children equestrian training. Anne own her owns her own competition horse, Beezies Milky Way, who she competes at Dressage Ireland shows.
